A
million thanks for all the comments above and below. These are the main reason
that I decided to return all of this poetry back to my site for my readers to
enjoy free. I decided to remove my poetry from my website a little over two
years ago, as I was readying my book for release. I will still be releasing my
book "Life in a Rhyme" eventually, but I will continue to give the poetry freely
on this site. - Donnie Sergent Jr
- Be prepared
to settle down with a drink of choice and some munchies, as you travel
through this literary smorgasbord. You will find enough reading to last an
entire evening! His quote page provides some food for thought. Browse
through his links and check out his short stories! I warn you, as you
journey into Donnie Sergent Jr's world, his writings just might reach out
and touch your heart! - BriefMe Magazine
- Author
Sergent has done a tremendous job with his writings. A fresh look. - Author
John A. Keel
- I love to
read author Sergent's poetry, quotes and stories. It's obvious that they
come from the heart. - Sandra Roach, Formerly of Alcove Books
- I hope I can
live up to the words of your poem dedicated to me. You are truly blessed.
Thank you. - Dr. Robert M. Holley
- Mr.
Sergent's constantly updated poetry is what keeps me coming back. I
particularly like the fantasy poems like, "The Midnight Wraith", The Tale of
Lythuseriun", The Tale of Cronas" and "Magic and Brawn". From another
discussion group I know that Mr. Sergent plans to release a fantasy fiction
book entitled "Magic and Brawn". I can't wait for it. - Tinity Dawn,
Constant Reader and Fan.
- Miller's
pond was a pleasantly scary suspense. I've read it over a dozen times. The
flow of the story is great and the surprise at the end makes me smile at
every reading. I await another story like this. Mr. Sergent's vision of
reality and hint of fantasy is a pleasurable journey. I felt like I was
there. - Thomas Jurgen, Internet Fan.
- I've been
reading Mr. Sergent's works since the early days of the 1990's when he used
the pen name Christopher Xavier Knight. The new works after he switched to
his real name didn't disappoint. I was afraid he would change his writing
style like some authors do after switching names for one reason or another.
But, the new poetry holds firm to the fantastic style I've come to know and
love. - Jessica Styles, Reader of old.
- Thankfully,
we now have access to a wealth of poetry and a teasing of fiction from an
author not interested in getting rich. The honesty of his love to write
shines through in Mr. Sergent's works. I long for more. Teresa Brines,
Internet reader.
- The true
heartfelt passion found in various poems on the subject are an honest
outpouring of emotion. From the various situations in the poetry, it's
obvious that all the situations aren't his own life. This leads me to see an
author that can truly feel the emotions of others and portray them as if his
own. Author Sergent has let a massive heart loose on the world. I enjoy its
embrace and falter just the same. I've cried at situations that I've
experienced myself and smiled at the good feelings brought to light by a few
of the others. I have finally found an author that gets it. It's a guilty
pleasure at every sitting. - Danielle Franson, Internet Reader for years.
- You don't
just get to know the author by reading these works, but the world itself.
Mr. Sergent's poetry and quotes visit every aspect of life as we know it and
life as we never will. After reading a few select poems, you will need the
rest like a drug. My walls portray my love of them. I enjoy the looks on my
visitors' eyes when the read a few and ask where they can read more. I feel
like I'm just doing my part for an author who's done his already. I look
forward to more. - Cynthia Chastice, Reader forever.
- I often lose
inspiration for my own poetry. It's nice to have a treasure trove of
inspiration at my fingertips. Thank you for posting your works online. I
make brief, but important visits often. Jonathon Hagey, Big Fan and Someday
Author.
- Marta -
Dallas/USA - Donnie, Loved the site. I loved The Mothman Prophecies! Did not
know you had written on that as well, will check it out! Your poetry is
soulful. Love, Marta
- Hello. I
just wanted to let you know how much your poetry has helped me out in bad
situations. There are a lot of answers in your pen Mr. Sergent. Keep it
coming. Helena New York, NY
- If the
quality of ink was gold, you'd be the richest man in the world. But, since
the heart is better than gold, I believe you are close to being just that.
Never stop this flow. I look forward to each new idea and vision. I am
constantly finding things in your poetry that make me stop and think about
life in a different way. -A Faithful Reader in Oklahoma
- Hello
Donnie. I'm a member of your Yahoo Group and just wanted to share something
with you. Every time you send a freshly written poem or short story to the
group, it makes my day. It's hard to beat free literature, especially that
of your caliber and the frequency of your posts. I am amazed that a
published author gives so freely of himself to his readers. I just wanted to
thank you and let you know that everyone in my household has a better day
when you send out your writings. You are wise beyond your years and even
more so than those twice your age. Your writings are enjoyed by my teens as
well as my parents. Keep the quill wet from the well and bless us with your
wit and wisdom. Name not important... :)
- Mr. Sergent,
your writings have given me a gift that I'll never be able to thank you for.
I have a severe social anxiety and depression. I often try to write myself,
but it never turns out the way I wanted it to. I had given up all hope, yes
ALL hope, when I chanced onto your website. Dozens of your poems read like
it was actually me writing them. I followed ups and downs, prayers and
defeat, just like in my own life. I was ready to commit suicide when I read
one of your poems that completely changed my mind: "Give Yourself the
Chance". My mind had been racing so fast that I forgot a lot of things. Most
importantly, how to believe in myself. The good Lord grants life, but mere
mortals can restore it. Thank you. - T. Sanson in Virginia.
- Wow what a
beautiful, complex heart! The complexity of your heart is surprising
considering the simplicity of your parables. Keep them coming. - Teresa
Blaney, Idaho.
- The
diversity of your poetry and short stories is what astounds me most. I've
been a published author for decades and have never found this much variation
in subject matter written as well from any author. S.K.
- Rick -

me a call anytime! -Rick Patrick-
- Donnie, I
think you are the greatest, I have two of your books and love the poems from
your soul. Love you bunches, Jeanie
